The idea for AutismResources developed, in hindsight, over many years of personal experience. Both Laina and Ellen grew up watching their own families struggle with a lack of structured answers and direction for treatment options, as both of their brothers were diagnosed early in life. To this day, many individuals and families continuously struggle with where to find person-based information and resources.
The primary goal of AutismResources is to provide direction to evidence-based resources, supports and therapies for autistic individuals - recommended by individuals on the autism spectrum (or their direct family members).
An increase of misinformation circulating has occurred with the development of technology, and continues as the concept of Autism Spectrum Disorder is further defined. Therefore, AutismResources also aims to provide a stream of beneficial, as well reliable, information and space for all members of the autism community. This includes autistic individuals, their families, friends, researchers, clinicians and practitioners. AutismResources aims to inform the general population, as well.
Though the eventual intent is to expand globally, for now AutismResources is currently working and seeking to feature resources, supports and therapies available in the following countries:
Australia
Canada
Ireland
UK
USA
Please do not hesitate to send us a resource recommendation to feature, or reach out to us with constructive feedback. Insight and patience with this ongoing process is greatly appreciated!

Please note that while AutismResources only features evidence-based practices, it's important to remember that every individual on the spectrum is unique. Therefore, the information and supports featured on AutismResources are not guaranteed to be suitable for everyone. Thank you for your understanding!
